Help me choose lenses for A7S II!

Hey everyone! New here, thought I'd ask for some help as I can't decide which lenses to get. 

So I'm about to get the Sony A7s II. I'm interested in doing video, but also photography since that's where I'm coming from. 

These are the lenses I'm considering: 

 

Either:

Sony Distagon 35mm 1.4, which costs about 1600 dollars. This lens looks absolutely fantastic. 

 

OR

 

Canon 24-105mm f4 AND the Sigma 35mm 1.4 ART which would cost about the same (maybe slightly more expensive), and I'd have to buy an adapter as well for the Canon lens. Anyone who feels like dropping their 2 cents?

The Distagon is worth the money.

 

The 24-70 GM is also. 

 

I've read mixed reviews on some adapters, and thats enough for me not to use one.  I can't take a chance on missing a 'must get' shot on a job.

i would go for native e-mount lenses if you need AF

 

if AF is not so important you could also think about  MF lenses like Loxia or adapted legacy lenses

 

as you go for the A7S sensor there is not so much need for super fast lenses, so the F2 from the loxia would be good enough 

 

if you o.k. with MF the voigtländer ultron 35mm 1.7, or nokton 35mm 1.2 are awesome

 

if AF is important  i think the FE 35mm 1.4 is one of the best 35mm out there

Though I have the A7rII and not the A7s, I initially went with the Metabones adapter and had access to all the Canon 'L' lens and was not all that impressed with the focusing (albeit manual focused shots were excellent).  I ended up purchasing a couple of GM's (24-70GM, 70-200GM) and the 35 f1.4 and I couldn't be happier.  I'm with Gilgenberg and JCC on recommending going with native lenses if AF is important.

My Sony shooter is the A7r2 and A7r; I make a lot of use of the 35mm range and have used both the Sigma 35mm ART, and Sony G master lenses(plus sony 2.8, zeiss 1.4, canon 1.4, plus a variety of M mount lenses on the techart adapter when I want a compact lens). Buying the Sigma ART 35 is a no brainer currently you can buy it plus the bundled Sigma MC-11 adapter for $949. Optically is is superior to all the other 35mm lenses(especially the Sony Gmaster 35mm) and using the MC-11 adapter all native Sony functions work, focus is on par with the pricier Gmaster lens. Focus is equally slow with both lenses both are large, cumbersome, and heavy on the Alpha series camerabodies. I have found that the Metabones adapter is very iffy for both functions and focus on most adapted canon ef mount lenses. As a carry around set up mostly i currently use the voigtlander 35mm f1.7 chrome ultron on the techart adapter, and the Sigma 35mm for any Tripod based shooting.
