I recently started a thread at Fred Miranda about the new Sony bracket app that I found lacking. Glad I did because that's where I learned about a web site that has other independent apps for Sony cameras, including a focus bracket app that allows for far more than 3 shots. It isn't perfect - some camera freezes when trying the maximum number of shots allowed, but could still be a huge time saver for many applications.

This shot was done in my backyard: A7rII, 70-200mm f4 at 79mm, f8, 1/30, 10 shots, stacked in PS.

Hello mtman,

Take a look here: Focus Bracket app .

I found the stacking app as well. It works ok for me. I am considering the Sony fe 90mm macro lens, and I think I found the perfect excuse to buy it. My current macro lens is manual and for the app you need auto focus.  :)

Thanks for this info, just what I've been looking for. This is fun to experiment with, and all seems to be working fine on my A7II.  Question: I don't have Photoshop CC and probably won't do enough stacking to warrant an expensive program for this feature. Can someone recommend a free or low-cost stacker program?  How about LR Enfuse?  I'm using LR6 and a Windows 10 PC.

CombineZP is pretty good.
