Advertisement Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Hi Apollwnios, Take a look here Life Expectancy / Average Shutter Actuations of an A6000 body before problems start occurring?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Vivek
Interesting Q. one may never know mainly becuase Sony comes up with a new NEX model before the plastic in the mount wears off.
Austerror
The shutter endurance I saw quoted for the Nex-7, which I can't find now, was 150,000+. So if you are using the EFCS, that would be greater than 150k photos. I don't know how many photos I've taken on my Nex-7, but its 10s of thousands. I expect the A6000 to be at least as durable. Seibertron
According to http://tools.science.si/index.php, I had taken over 201,550 photos as of March 10th with my Sony Nex-5N. It continues to be an absolutely fantastic camera. I use it just about every day since I purchased it from Amazon back in January 2012. I am looking forward to a new successor to the Nex-5 cameras with the new Sony Alpha cameras. Here's hoping for an a7000 with a touch screen. Guest PenGun
The exif data can be extracted with ExifTool. The various numbers are easily available. http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/ It's actually a perl script so it'll run anywhere, well almost. Packages at that URL. Michael_j
It's got to be better than the Leica M8. Peak rate of failures for the original shutter seems to be around 15000. However Leica do replace the shutter regardless of age and warranty as a goodwill gesture,

Michael_j
As an freebee, I doubt this! Leica repair costs are really on a high school! It is so, I speak from experience. My 2010 M8 shutter was replaced last year. I had to pay postage and a small charge for an unconnected repair but the camera got a new shutter and wind mechanism and full clean and adjustment free of charge. Michael_j
Shutter mechanism is spring tensioned, electronically controlled. Spring is re tensioned (armed) after each exposure by a small wind motor.
