Keep getting drop offs with the A7Rii, yet the A99 holds up 100% fine on the same USB line/config

We have shot for almost 2hrs with the A99 - no connection issues.

Attach the A7 and within 5 min we loosed connection.
We are using a 4.6m USB 3.0 Active Extension Cable.

The A7 just seems very much more sensitive - wonder if anyone can offer any advice please

Thx.

I don't know what size usb plug the A99 has but the small one on the a7 series is prone ,I find, to losing connection.

Problem is solved with the supplied cable holder that came with my A7r2, are you using this holder/support

Also a7r2 is not usb3 don't know but doubt that is the problem however.

I also had problems till I bought a decent usb cable and a scond active one from tether tools, they work fine together no drop offs , when I used cables bought from Maplins they kept dropping out as well.

Thanks for the reply

Yes, we are using the supplied cable holder on the A7.
Have been looking around for a few days and have just ordered a 'TetherPro' USB 3.0 male to Micro-B 5 pin, 4.6m, High Vis Orange.

Don't recall the brand of the cable we have, but its not a TetgherPro

Really hope that will fix the problem - as he image quality (& colour) difference between the two cameras is quite noticeable when compared side by side.

Thx
