Memory card uploading status

How does one remove this annoying indicator from the viewfinder and monitor?

Why do you want to? Maybe if you explain what you are trying to achieve, we can help.

Are you trying to show the viewfinder image on a TV? Or record it?

I never see that, so I can only assume you mean when you're uploading to the computer. I remove the card from the camera and put it in a card reader, so my camera isn't tied up while uploading.

I thought the OP was referring to the display when writing the buffer to the card. I'm so used to seeing that when using the A1, A9 III and A1 II.

No hint which camera the OP is using.

I can't even imagine shooting so many frames that the camera gets that far behind. 15-20 is about my max. And all I ever see is the little count at the top of the EVF in the upper left. A1 and A7 IV.
