Problems with block/crosshatch style banding in footage

Hi everyone! 👋

I need some help with some footage I took last night that had a problem that I haven’t come across before. I was videoing a live performance and the videos I captured have some weird block/crosshatch looking artefacts baked into the footage that I’ve not seen before. Basically, I’m coming to here to see if anyone could shed any light on what this could be, how I could try and fix it (I’ve tried adding grain for now, to dither the footage and it’s helped a tiny bit) and how/if I can avoid this happening in the future.

Sony A6400 with 35mm f1.8 lens.

If it's video, quite possibly it's the led lighting causing flicker.

I had similar problems.

You can either change your shutter speed, generally lower it, whilst filming. This isn't great of course, produces ghosting.

Or you can try flicker-free in post. I've had some success with this.
