September 12, 201510 yr Here are my first Testshots with the Tamron 150-600, shot with a monopod today :-) About the lens: I used it with a cheap chinese adapter for Nikon Mount with aperture ring, all metal construction which holds the lens very good, there is maybe 5 mm play but not an issue, the lens is so big and heavy that you will hold the lens all the time anyway. Shooting with this big and heavy lens definitely needs a monopod or tripod and i also recommend to take a bag with you that this lens fits in with the camera on. Using it manual worked very good, the focus ring is precise and with the magnifier and focus peaking you can be shure to have sharp results. The 5 axis IBIS worked great with this huge lense attached. Best sharpness is from 150-400mm but also 400-600 is very usefull, just needs some tweaks in LR, contrast, blacklevel. It was a real joy using this lens, if you have never used this kind of lens with such a huge range, i can really recommend trying it out
