Sony 100-400 GM Lens problem

Over the last year of so, I have begun to notice an odd shadow like edge to the subject of my image along the left side. It is only apparent when I increase the magnification to 150-200%. I have attempted to isolate the cause by trying my lens on another camera body (A7R3) and what I find is the same shadow appears but now is on the right side of the subject in focus. I tried turning IBIS off and and turn off auto focus, and still get the problem. I believe it is a Lens issue, not a camera issue so I had my dealer send the lens to Sony for a repair estimate. My reason for posting this issue is to ask if others have had this kind of an issue with a Sony lens, and if so, what was the determined cause and was it repaired. I have attached two images showing the problem.
