If there is nobody else around who has problems pairing a 6500 with an iPhone over bluetooth for getting GPS coordinates, than there is some bad configuration from the old Play Memories App left over and is clashing with the new installed Imaging Edge App.

Today I spend 2 hours in a Sony shop in Porto, and the engineer was not able to get the dam thing working. We tried it with a Android phone and it worked seamless. So the camera is o.k.

Any ideas?

o.k. nobody around. I just posted my experience at the Apple Appstore, there are many complains, also about Bluetooth.
I found a fix by coincidence.

"I have had the Alpha 6500 for almost two years and have struggled with the Bluetooth connection again and again. The last nuisance was the update from PlayMobile to the new Imaging Edge app. It did not work at all with the coupling. I spent hours, sometimes with professional support. I suspect it was the driver of the PlayMobile app, which was still operating after installing the more recent Imaging Edge. After the coupling, the driver was present for a short time, but there was no coupling and the driver was no longer visible. At some point we accidentally deactivated the driver at the moment of visibility. Afterwards it was possible to install the current driver in case of a new attempt to connect. But it still is not working properly. The app must be restarted regularly to establish a connection.

Very bad japanese engeneering!"
