Hi! I have an A7 Mark 2 and the 28-70 kit lens. I am looking for a 2.8 zoom without having to drop $2200 for a G master 24-70. I see that with the LA-EA 3 adapter I can use Sony SAM and SSM lenses and it seems to AF pretty fast. My question is do after market lenses like Tamron 28-75 auto focus? I know lens have to have own motor that isn't screw drive and I think Tamron does? Has anyone had experience with 3rd party 28-70/75 2.8 lenses on a7MK 2 using the LA-EA3? Any help would be appreciated!

Recently purchased this lens for my a6300 (KEH 130). It is an unusual A mount because it is a telephoto with optic stabilization--recent Sigma lenses for A mount don't have it. The lens is noisier than the HSM lenses but appears to focus quickly and accurately--probably not as fast as the Sony FE 70-300 which costs $1000 more. Went down to our harbor (Bellingham) and took some BIF pictures) With a sky background the lens had no difficulty. Against a busier background it had some problems finding the bird. Off to Alaska next week will test the lens further. Here are a couple of my successful images. https://www.flickr.com/photos/147204045@N03/shares/470Sz4

I 've just received my LA-EA3 lens adaptor and tested my long waited Sigma A mount lenses but I 've been having trouble with the focusing. Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art works perfectly with both phase detection mode and contrast AF mode. Sigma 50mm f1.4 Art cannot focus at all, it jumps between closest focal point and 4 feet. Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 DG seems to be able to set a focal point but is out of focus. Does anyone has any of the problems? What would be the problem? The lenses or the camera? Would a firmware update on the camera or the lens fix those issues? Please help!~
