Sony A7, A7ii, A7sii, etc - do they restart video recording automatically?

for shooting video, can anyone tell me if any of the Sony cameras like the A7,A7ii, A7sii (or similar) have the ability to restart the recording, despite the 30 min recording limit?  i currently shoot on Canon dslr's that can record continuously even though there's the required break in the files.  i film live events sometimes and it would be nice to at least be able to go for 2 hours without stopping.  thanks for the help everyone!

There is a 30min limitation and you would need to restart video recording manually.

 

The 30min limitation is said to be there for legal reasons. The camera has a proper temperature shutdown if the camera were unable to withstand the prolonged recording.

 

There have been succesful attempts by Ma1co from personal-view to disable this artificial restriction by using a hacked playmemories app.

The reports in the comments section were mostly positive and because it only is an app the chances of bricking your device are very small.

great, thanks for the info!  hopefully someday there will be a simple option to allow it to restart on its own, maybe with a short delay to get around the legal stuff?
