Reassigning the focus hold button 24-70mm GM 2.8 lens?

Hello,

I've just received the above noted lens to be used with an a7riii.  I have read that some have reassigned the lens mounted Focus Hold as a Back Focus button, and I would like to do the same.  However, I have searched the camera's menus and cannot find a custom assignment to accomplish that end.  Anyone familiar with this lens and reassigning the Focus Hold button on the a7riii?

The Focus Hold will only show in the menu when the lens is attached.
 
Try this… 

 

1. Choose Menu > Custom Settings > Pre-AF > Off

2. Choose Menu > Custom Settings > Custom Key Settings > Focus Hold > AF On

Actually, the lens was attached when I performed the menu search, but I will follow the approach outlined in your post and see if I can find it.
