Golden Eiffel Tower and the Moon

Hey there

I would like to share with you one of my favorite shots. I took it last summer with the A7 and the 55/1.8 while on a boat on the Seine. It was really hard to hold the camera steady, but I managed to get away with a great image.

Just having switched to the A7II and I can tell you, I really could have used the IBIS feature back then... :)

I recall reading somewhere that publishing (sharing on a website) photographs of the Eiffel Tower at night is technically a breach of EU copyright law! During the day is fine because it is a tourist landmark and EU law specifically permits the publication of such images. But at night the illuminated Eiffel Tower is classified as an art work - reproduction therefore breaches copyright legislation. Bizarre. I think some obscure political party in Europe is trying to make this into a Big Issue - it isn't (unless I suppose one tries to make a living by reproducing "art works").

Just for information!

Fabulous pictures.

Tim
