I know it's just a new forum and there isn't a lot of members yet, but can I please just ask we keep the trolls and other people who like to pick fights off of this forum? Sure it's good to have open discussions about features and lenses but I hope we don't get the negativity seen in other camera forums.

Good luck moderators!  :D

I have experience of about 14 years of forum moderation - and I don't have a real solution for this problem...

Spammers and trolls are easy to spot and to remove.

But what you see as a troll may be an interesting character and great contributor in the eyes of other members.

Difficult...

Best way to go in my experience: Don't focus on negative people but on great people and contributions.

I'm really looking forward to new members, new insights and new experiences.

By any chance does the "Community Forum Software by IP.Board 3.4.7" provide for a member choosing to never see another members (a troll's) posts? That would be so helpful (like the "block" in facebook).

Thanks,

Marty

Steve C,

Go to your name at the top right of the screen.

manage ignore prefs.

Add name to the list, select your options.

Job done.

It's easier than finding a program to reach out from said trolls screen and slap them about the head.

Thank you, thank you !

Going to go de-troll my feed :-)

Best,

Marty

    • You must be. I have an A7 IV and an A1, and while the A7 IV isn't nearly as fast as the A1, it is actually more tenacious. I have never had a problem with any kind of action shooting at all. Conversely, I had an A7R III that I loved, but the AF was so far behind the A7 IV I had to give it up.  I also had trouble with Ambassador settings. Without naming any one in particular, I found most of them to be useless.  Have you ever checked out Mirrorless Comparison? This post has rankings for many different cameras. The A7 IV is ranked very high and in some excellent company:

Here's a link to the post. You can also poke around the site and find a full review along with his settings for A7 IV BIF, if that helps.   The Best Mirrorless Cameras for Birds in Flight Ranked - Mirrorless Comparison   As to what's causing this, no way to know without knowing every setting, which lenses, etc.
    • will check these ideas out. thanks to all
    • I agree with @big0bum, I wear glasses and have never had a problem with any of Sony's stock eye cups. The good news is that there are plenty of inexpensive third-party manufacturers on Ali and eBay that you can try until you find one you like.
