461_alders
I just bought a ZV-E10 Mark II in Tokyo. As the store didn't have the international version with the telephoto, I bought the Japanese version. There doesn't seem to be a 'language' option in the menu. What is the easiest way to change the operating language to English? Thanks!
Advertisement Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 Hi 461_alders, Take a look here convert JP version of ZV-E10 Mark II to English. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Olaf W.
I guess seperating the international version from the Japanese one is the English language option. Why don’t you ask the store for help? 461_alders
Cameratose
Sometimes you can change it in the toolbox menu, but not always. It depends on the location the camera was marketed. European cameras tend to have this feature, but it's less common in places like the US, AUS, and probably Japan. If it doesn't show up as an option in the toolbox, it's likely you can't change it. 461_alders

I asked the store: they wanted to see me the international edition (more expensive) and (more expensive) telephoto lenses; they didn't suggest other options. Thus, I expect I need to do something like upgrade the firmware.
Olaf W.
Unfortunately, the firmware is region and model specific. If you try to force a foreign firmware to the camera somehow you might loose functionality and warranty. 461_alders and Cameratose 1
FunWithCameras
This is by design. They make a Japanese-only version available at a lower price for sale inside Japan. I believe they want to sell cameras to their "home" audience at a better price. The international version is more expensive. If they did not warn you about this in the store, perhaps you can insist that they take it back. I believe there is no way to convert the Japanese-only version to English.
