Once again, I cannot access the reset/initialize menu.

I did a reset and initialize. The problem is still here.  When I turn the camera ON, I  get the language selection menu - I select  English and cannot  exit  or cancel. - I  get date/time  I am able to  select  cancel and 'menu' to exit. I am able to  take pictures but the date is 'Jan 1st...'  

I  cannot  access the reset menu.
