A little help? A7s3 not going into autofocus?????????

I am using a Sony Gmaster 24-105mm lens on my sony a7s3. However i cannot seem to change it to auto focus mode. It is just always in manual focus. When I try to chage the focus mode in the menu settings it says 'Invalid with this lens. If the lens has an AF/MF switch, perform the operation from the lens'

But when I press the af/mf switch on the lens nothing happens. It just stays in Manual focus mode.

Also it seems none of the buttons on the lens are doing anything.

Everything else is working fine with the lens.

Any ideas what could be causing this?
