Sony 70-200 F4 G OSS vs Sony GM 100-400 F4.5-5.6 GM OSS

Hi, 

I currently have a a7iii and a 70-200mm F4 which I predominantly use for photographing sailing. The lens has served me well however I often find myself requiring more reach. 

Has anyone upgraded from the 70-200 to the 100-400? I am worried that the slightly lower aperture may be more of a sacrifice than the extra reach. The lens also occasionally gets splashed with water so and note the 100-400 doesn't have a internal zoom so am keen to hear peoples views regarding the weather sealing on the 100-400.

Keen to get opinions on if it's worth the upgrade.

Another option is to upgrade (in 2 month's time) to the new 70-200mm f/4 G II. It's a much improved lens, and it supports teleconverters, so you can use it as a 70-200 f/4, or a 140-400 f/8.

It's a little lighter, sharper, and much faster.
