What is the best remote / cable relsease for Sony A1. Is there a phone app that can do the work of an intervalometer?

There are pros and cons to using a cable or a remote.  Do you have a preference?  What are you trying to accomplish?  I assume that the A1 uses the same electronic cable release connection that goes all the way back to the original Minolta MAXXUM cameras.  There were many cable releases made over the years that will work -- with different features.

For a phone app look at Foolography - I don't know if they've got one for Sony yet - but looks really good.
