Hi all, Decided to share some photos I took with my recent purchase - a Soligor 135mm f2.0. If you're looking for an ultra fast, ultra sharp, lightweight and compact tele.. well keep looking. Apart from being an f2, this beast of a lens is heavy (metal and glass only) and quite unwieldy when mounted on my A7. Still, what it lacks in terms of handling and sharpness wide open it more than makes up for with character and build quality, so I absolutely love it. I had the pleasure of doing a second studio session with Erin Brady, Miss USA 2013. For beauty and make-up shots, I usually use a Hasselblad as my go to camera. I just love the large format sensor and the color, tonal gradation and wonderful skin tones that is so characteristic of the older Hasselblad CCD cameras. However, for this session, I decided to leave my comfort zone for the day and used a Sony A7r2 as the camera. It was mounted with a Sony/Zeiss 135mm F1.8 ZA lens (via an A mount adapter) and deep into the session I switched over to the Zeiss Batis 85mm lens to test it's performance as well. For headshots, I'm still a long lens guy - my preference is 135mm, 150mm or a 200mm focal length depending on the camera body and the shape of the model's face. Thus, this shot was taken with the 135mm F1.8 but once my shot list was accomplished, I gave the 85mm a whirl and I must admit that I was quite surprised just how nicely the 85mm performed in this situation. I got this Pentacon auto 2.8/135 MC (M42) literally for $10 and came with a Praktica body and a Tessar 2.8/50 Carl Zeiss Jena DDR. It is in almost new condition cosmetically but the focus ring is very stiff and there is a little "play" between the mount and the aperture ring, I figure both problems are probably fixable. I bought a Novoflex M42 adapter for it. For a telephoto, it is very compact and it is built like a tank plus it has an integrated hood. I walked around the neighbourhoods this weekend a took a few shots. I was really surprised by the results. Focus was a bit hard to do wide open because of the stiff focus ring and I didn't feel like using my tripod so I got a bit of softness but overall most shots were quite sharp. Hi all, I'm looking for a 135mm for my a7ii. Does anyone have some advise? I'm looking at various lenses, and it is though to choose. I'm looking at lenses like: Canon FD 2,5/135 Olympus OM Zuiko 135mm f/3,5 Minolta Rokkor 135mm f/3,5 Maybe even a Carl Zeiss/Contax Sonnar T* 135mm f/2.8, but this one is more expensive Greatly appreciate your input!

Got this manual focus shot of an Osprey coming back from fishing in the morning out front of 'Tween Waters Inn on Captiva Island, FLA. Strange that I am more at home with manual focus lenses on this A7 than with my Zeiss 24-70.
