Hi all
There is the harrogate 10k tomorrow and was going to go take some pics has anyone got any tips or advise on how to take my shots? I will be using sonya6000 with two lenses as that's all I have! Sony 18,55 and 55.210

You may be interested in this: A6000 shooting sports . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

I would use the 55-210, it will help to isolate individual runners, use the widest aperture as possible to help differentiate the subject runner from the background.

I would turn off face-detect and use spot focusing instead. With so many faces in the viewfinder the face-detect will likely not pick the same runner that you want.
