March 5, 20178 yr Hi! I am very new to photography, so I need a lot of answers and opinions Please! I recently purchased a Sony a6000. I only have the 16-55mm lens that it came with. I was told that I could purchase used manual lenses and an adapter for much less than a lens that would go along with the camera. I found a Vivitar lens (70-210mm 1:4.5 MC Macro focusing zoom 52mm) at a garage sale for $7 and I am wondering if it would fit my camera with an adapter and what adapter would I use if it is going to fit??

March 7, 20178 yr You have to find out what lens mount the lens has to get an adapter for it. ? to E mount adapter. If it has a thread mount it is M42 to E. Other bayonet mounts are different, like Nikon, Canon, etc.
March 12, 20178 yr There may be a mount code on the back of the lens. KA is Konica, NK or N/F is Nikon, C/FD or CA is Canon, M/SR or MT is Minolta, P/K is K- mount, etc, etc. If it has any such marking, just post it here so someone can translate it for you. Do be aware that you've been using a short FL lens with OSS. Switching to a very long FL with no OSS will be quite challenging. Don't shun the high ISOs ... cuz you'll need fast shutter speeds. Sharp images with a bit of noise are always way better ruined images at low ISO, no exceptions.
April 15, 20178 yr Hi you can take a good picture of the rear of that lens mount and we can tell you what mount it is and on Amazon or eBay can get the adapter for less than $20 and it's a good lens and with your A6000 you can manual focus easy and fun! Christopher
