Big news! Nik collection now available for free!

I'm a long time Nik user and the entire collection is fantastic.

The collection works with C1 as well as LR, PS (don't know about Photos) and as a stand alone app.

interesting. I have been messing around with Capture One for a while to see what it was like, and because I had no strong attachment to LR, but in light of this, I wonder if I should switch back to LR....

I just downloaded it. How is integration with LR?

Just trying to install it and it doesn't let me add it to C1? How did you do that?

Many thanks for the links, just downloading it for Mac now.

Will this work with GIMP?

Its not a plug in for C1.  You simply need to use "Edit With" from C1 for the round trip.  C1 creates a variant that you can use Nik sw with.

If you'd like to use multiple modules, then I use Edit With PS and use the Nik plug ins from PS.

Hope this helps.

During the install, there should be a screen that indicates which apps Nik will install plug in for.  LR is one of those so make sure that you enable that feature.  Once installed, then its an option from LR.

Seems like this is absolutely worth a try.

Is this better than the topaz suite when it comes to noise reduction?

I don't think Nik is better regarding noise reduction. However it's easy to use. It's about the same as the Adobe noise reduction IMO.
