Hi guys,

I am going to get the a6300 soon and have a burning question:

Which lens should I pair it with?

I know that with Canon lenses, i will lose native functions such as Eye-AF. However, that is not my utmost concern.

Will I get equivalent image quality to the Sony GM if I use the Canon 17-55 or 24-70ii?

I currently have the 24-70ii but planning to sell it, since it's probably a waste that the APS-C sensor can't take full advantage of my sharp lens. Also, the 17-55 is smaller, has OIS and is way cheaper. I just want to know if I'll lose significant image quality by doing so.

My work comprises:

70% in 4k24p

10% in 1080/120

20& in stills

Meanwhile, I'm also eagerly waiting for reviews of the Sigma adapter. If eye-AF can work accurately and reliably using the 18-35 1.8 or 35/1.4 ART with a6300, then I'm sold.

Suggestions welcome!

As it happens, I have a Canon 17-55 from my Canon 50D days.

I have played around with it on my A6000, and if we ignore the not so impressive autofocus speed (hopefully fixed when using the A6300) it´s an odd lens choice for sure.

The lens is in my opinion way too big and heavy for actual use as a generic zoom lens on the camera. It completely defies the point of getting a smaller camera in the first place.

Image quality seems fine, although not tested extensively due to the size. :)

I loved it on my 50D but now it stays at home.Although not as wide or bright, I´ll likely grab my FE 28-70mm instead.
