December 5, 20169 yr BTW there is also a rumour (although not on SAR) that Sony will release a more high-end A mount flagship camera. It is said that it will probably have a higher-resolution sensor but no higher than 60MP resolution. Source? or it's not true.
December 7, 20169 yr Where does the information about the flange distance on the A9 come from? It's not on Sony.com! The flange distance is part of the E mount definition, so this is identical on all E mounts and any changes and it will no longer be E mount compatible.

December 9, 20169 yr Just discovered this thread recently, and read it with great interest. Of course, now we know, what we didn´t know then! It´s funny to see "D700" has totally "shut up", with his "doomsday profeties - almost hatred comment´s toward A-Mount! Being the happy owner of two A99´s and a lot of Zeiss-glasses, i look very much forward to pick up a A99II sometime next year, when it´s released in Denmark!
December 13, 20169 yr That just your opinion Actually it's a fact. Your are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts. Do some reading before making such claims: http://briansmith.com/flange-focal-distance-guide/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flange_focal_distance http://cameramarket.eu/data/pdf/cameramarket_Lens%20mounts%20and%20flange%20focal%20distances.pdf
December 13, 20169 yr Author Wedge, molan is correct. A major reason for the success of the A6000 and A7 series mirror-less cameras is they can take advantage of other manufacture's DSLR lenses using an adapter to that "makes up" the distance between the lens and the sensor (along with the electronics to translate the Sony AF, etc instructions that the 3rd party lens understands.
