A7ii with Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS experience?

Does anyone have any experience with this combo?

 

Which adapter are you using?

 

How is the focus speed?

 

Is it still pretty usable in a wedding situation?

I'd like to keep the lens but not sure how well it works with the A7ii.

I have the f4 version and it works great with the Metabones IV adapter.  I will say the performance of autofocus was not good prior to the Version 2 Sony firmware update.  But now the autofocus is fast and accurate with my A7ii.  I even think it is faster than my Canon 70D.

a7ii + Commlite + Canon 70-200/2.8 IS ii Works really good and I use it in churches to shoot plays, concerts, events. 

 

I also have the MBIV and it works really good as well. I would go with the MBIV if I were on paid jobs.

To be fair to Commlite, here is my review of it with the a7ii and latest firmware on the Sony.

Tested out the viltrox with the 70-200 IS II 2.8 and its impressively fast at focusing!!! 

 

Very surprised and impressed!! 

 

for the $130 CDN I paid for it, it was well worth it.

Choosing between the Commlite and the MBIV, I would take the MBIV. I think it is fair to ask if there is $300 difference in the performance. I would lean toward "maybe". But if you want the best of the two, the MBIV is the one.
