June 1, 20214 yr I recently posted questions about the adaptability of a couple of Nikon lenses that I would like to be able to use with Sony Alpha cameras. Maybe I should ask a more basic question, just for my own understanding. I have used both Metabones and Sigma MC-11 adapters to mount Canon lenses on Sony Alpha cameras. In fact, I have been exclusively shooting Sony cameras with a set of six Canon lenses since 2017. With the Metabones and Sigma adapters, nearly any Canon lens can be mounted to a Sony Alpha camera. Is there no similar adapter for Nikon lenses? Is there some reason why Nikon lenses are less adaptable to Sony E mount than Canon lenses?

June 2, 20214 yr Apparently Nikons mount protocol is pretty difficult to reverse engineer, in part due to the mechanical aperture coupling. Nowadays there are some viable options if you don't shoot fast moving subjects. Have a look here: https://briansmith.com/nikon-lens-adapters-sony-e-mount-cameras/
