Hi there,
I just got a Sony 6700 and I absolutely love it. However, I noticed that transfer speeds into lightroom were very slow.
I decided to run a benchmark by transferring files from the camera in MSC mode and I could only ever get to 150mb/s. I am using a USB 40gb/s cable in a 20gb/s USB C port.
To investigated further, I decided to run a benchmark using crystaldiskmark of the camera in MSC mode and found I could only reach 175mb/s read and 60mb/s write. My SD card is a Kingston 128gb V90. I also tried a Lexar 128gb v60 and got the same speeds.
Anybody with a 6700 willing to test their transfer speeds in windows through a file transfer or crystaldiskmark to help curb my anxiety that something is wrong with my unit?
Thank you!
I find that gear is very particular to the user. I have both the A7Cii and A7CR and love to use them with the 24 f2.5 and 40 F2.8 due to the size however due to the choice to shoot a range of genres I have larger lenses which remove the benefit of the small bodies. My advice is to buy something to cover what you do the most and the lens you want to use the most. There are always so many variables at play and often there simply is no right answer. Whatever you decide, I hope you enjoy it.
