Hello

My A7 R has done only ca. 4.000 exposures, but now I have got an irritation problem: When I turn the camera on, the monitor gives a bries flash, then the camera turns to eyefinder view and stays this way until I turn the camera off again.

The Monotor/Finder menu option is set to "Auto".

If I turn this setting til "Monitor", the monitor works fine and if I put the mark on "Finder", the finder works all right. It is only the "Auto" function, which will not toggle between the finder and the monitor - which is most irritating as it makes desktop photos impossible.

Anyone who has a solution ? (Please not suggest a new camera).

Greetings

Perhaps something (like dirt or a not correctly fitted eyepiece) is blocking the viewfinder‘s sensor.

I wonder if you have a bit of dust or dirt on the sensor of your eye finder, making it think your eye is looking through it. It might be worth giving it a bit of a clean just in case.

Sounds like a dirty or faulty sensor

Hello guys

Wonderful to get qualified respons from experienced people. After removing the rubber eypiece I found some dust residue collected in the edges of the sensor. After removing that I am back to normal.

Wow - what a relief.

So: Thank you very very much for your advices.
