February 18, 20214 yr Hey all, I recently just switched to Sony and I am having an issue when importing my RAW files into Lightroom. In the 'Library' module they appear to be exposed exactly how I shot the photo and how it appears on the camera. However when I click into the 'Develop' module then the photo goes much darker and flatter. I have no idea why this is happening and nor do Adobe as it seems, they can't find anything in Lightroom that would be causing it. Has anyone else experienced this before? Thanks, Luca

February 19, 20214 yr Hi, Luca When shooting RAW, the image shown on your camera's screen will have been processed to JPEG in camera. I don't use "Lightroom" but I suspect a similar process has been used for the "library". This processing is governed by what the camera/computer thinks is best and will have lost some of the information that the RAW file contains RAW files keep all the information but do tend to look flat and dark until you have processed them - giving you maximum creative control. A better explanation can be found at https://chrisbrayphotography.com/tips/raw_vs_jpg.php Hope this is a help Happy processing!
February 19, 20214 yr If you have DRO set on then the image is underexposed to preserve details. see this thread Edited February 19, 20214 yr by LiveShots
