May 8, 20196 yr I used the Sigma 150-600 mm lens with MC-11 adapter for Sony to image the moon. The image came out ok. But, there was significant cropping. I wanted more focal length. Sigma said I couldn't use the 1.4x or 2.0x teleconverter with this lens and the MC-11 adapter. They gave me the wrong info. You can use the teleconverters. However you will lose the autofocus. If you're imaging the moon, you will use manual focus anyway. I just came across this youtube video using the 150-600 mm with the 2x teleconverter on a Sony A7RII. John John

January 11, 20223 yr Hi. Do you know whether I can get my Sony 2x teleconverter to work with my Sigma 100-600 and my A7III? Do I have to buy a Sigma teleconverter?
January 11, 20223 yr Apparently, as per the E-mount license agreement, 3rd parties are not allowed to produce teleconverters for E-mount, nor do Sony teleconverters work on 3rd party lenses. So alas: your Sony teleconverter doesn't work on the Sigma 150-600 (it does fit and magnify, but you'll loose electronic coupling of the lens), nor does Sigma make teleconverters for E-mount.
January 11, 20223 yr Author For the moon shot, I used manual focus. I more recently upgraded to the Sony 200-600 mm lens. John
