DSC00361

I got a neutral density filter this week and its making a lot of difference its an nd 4 which i think is 2 stops, such an improvement especially at an environment like the beach where its full of potential highlight blowout scenarios when its sunny, pretty happy. Thats why ive been doing the silhouette thing, which i like anyway. To get proper exposure across the frame requires an iso boost into grainy territory sometimes. Its winter here too and the weather is heavy, get wet frozen and blown around it can be quite challenging at times.

Such a nice camera.

Never take this stuff for granted.

These birds are very flighty, very hard to get close to them. There on to you real quick. Thats as close as i could get, i use a technique whereby i dont look at them and feign interest elsewhere whilst gently moving towards them then snap, seems to work. Staying low is also less intimidating. Love to get right up close one day.
