A7 II + Elinchrom Skyport

Does anyone know if Elinchrom Skyport and Sony A7 II are compatible? I have an Elinchrom Ranger Quadra system and plan to buy an A7 II - IF the two systems can play nice together. I have contacted Elinchrom support but stiml no answer after three days...

I have a Sony A7 II but no Elinchrom (I use PCB WL Ultra 800). If the Elinchrom Skyport has a universal hot shoe connector (middle pin connection) it will work. I successfully use a variety of flash triggers with my studio monolights and speedlights. NOTE: Be aware of the Sony "painted hotshoe" issue and the ways to get around it.

I use the Quadra Ranger every day and also own the Skyport thing, I find it a flimsy, brittle bit of kit and requires a user manual if you wish to change channel due to interference etc..

 

For day to day use I'd recommend the Pocket Wizard III's, much easier to change channel and many more of them..

 

You also need to switch the setting > Cog > 3 > Live view setting to 'off' otherwise you want see a thing through the viewfinder. A setting which got me stumped when I first started using the camera...(You may know this already of course)
