Need a repair on my a58. Wanted to ask forum members who they have had good luck with as far as price, quality, etc.

I've used Sony's Precision Camera a number of times and couldn't recommend them.

United Camera, based out of Chicago, has been pretty reliable, and they have a price estimator right on their website.

I decided on Photo Tech in NY. Couldn't have had a better experience. Everyone there on the phone was professional and super nice. They repaired the camera for the low end of their estimate of $145 and shipped it back. Time frame was acceptable. 2 weeks door to door.

It honestly depends on what the damage is. If it's some obvious physical damage like a cracked screen or broken button yes it can be fixed for a reasonable price.

But if it's something more serious (unknown) most places charge $75 just for taking a look at it. After you pay them it may turn out it can't be fixed.

For something priced at the A58 level $450 you could trade it in for parts and use it as an excuse to upgrade to a newer model.

What's the damage?

I just used Digitron Electronics Inc in Montebello, California.  I needed a "quick" turn around for my a6000 and lens coupling.  They did a great job for a fair price.  The only slow point was getting parts from Sony.
