Will the A7000 be announced soon? No rumors anymore?

There was a bit of rumor in the last months, but now only FF rumor available.

I'm interested in the A7000 due to the rumor about its specification:

 

New sensor (but still 24MP)
3 axis built-in stabilisation which works with any lens you attach
touch-screen
2.3M dot OLED viewfinder
8% thinner (118 x 67 x 42 mm)
dual-axis leveling gauge
Battery Life (CIPA): 460 (built-in stabilisation off)

 

and its waterproof body.

 

Is there any update on this topic?

Maybe the actual A6000 is the highest APS-C solution; everything above might get FF sensors.

Makes sense, as the A6000 is a great camera and better in every Spec than the old NEX7

The a7000 with these specs is exactly what I want and what I would by.   But Sony is now hooked on FF opium.  I am afraid the camera industry will produce nothing but FF for some time because they see it as a pot of gold.  As a result of this, cameras will be considerably bigger and heavier than they need to be for years to come.  Eventually of course they'll give us the same qualities in smaller sensors, and everyone can run to that side of the boat.

I'm of the same opinion as jimh12345. The a7000 is the kind of camera I'm waiting for. The sensor is big enough for my private use. The combination of touch-screen and EVF is what I missed at the a6000 and it is possible to use lenses from every price segment (in difference to A7...). The FF cameras need good lenses (starting in a higher price segment) to make those incredible images.

 

So I still hope that we'll see the a7000 soon.

I've been waiting for months now, Sony can call it the A6100 or A7000 but its what we want the A6000 plus the features the A5100 has. Anything else Sony throws in there is just icing on the cake, but I do like icing

Yes, I think there will be a successor of the A6000 in the future.

And maybe with all these nice features!

But I don't think there will be a HighEnd APS-C Alpha anymore.

Same as Nikon; D300s is still there, since 2009 without successor ...

High End is FF at these dominating marketplayers

I am interested in this camera and not the A6000 because I want full electronic shutter. In timelapses, I may burn though shutter quickly in case of normal cameras. If it does not happen, I may need to migrate to Em-II from olympus(I know its a compromise).

I am not looking for a full frame. I already have an A7 doing my low light duty. Need a companion camera APS-C

I saw some word of a FF in an E-mount due out sometime in May.  I would like that!  But it doesn't sound liek this what you are talking about when referring to the A7000.  Is it?

If Sony will launch a more economy FF E mount, A7000 is not necessary appear....

I think Sony will kill the X0000 series. Most probably there will be an one digit series.

A5, A7, A9.... Not clear what will happen with A77, A99. Probably this range with different

lens mount will be reserved for the 50+ MP cameras. Im curious in what range (and price)

will be the two new fixed lens cameras.

I think the alpha x000 has a lot to offer. Over the years I've used 120/127/135 film formats and several superzoom and bridge digital cameras. 135 was always a small format to me so I laugh when its referred to as full frame.

While APS was a ridiculous format for film, you were paying a lot more money for less film, the APS-C format seems to be a sweet spot for all-purpose digital photography. To that end, I will by the next out of the gate APS-C alpha x000 be it an A6100 or A7000 so long as it combines the feature set of the A5100 and A6000. I do not want the bulk of an A7. Ihe key here is an all purpose camera, if you have a need for a larger body of sensor then so be it but please don't argue to kill the Ax000 range just when Sony have started doing things right.

In my comment I wanted to say that Sony will kill the X000 series, not the APSC format.

There a lot of lenses for this sensor size and the business with them is highly profitable

becouse the R&D costs are already home.
