New Smart Remote Control: Change Focus mode

Featured Replies

A new snart remote camera app is available: version 3.10 replaces Version 3.00. There is a new feature: Change the autofocus mode.

Unfortunately it does not work correctly on my Alpha 6000 (new firmware 1.10):

If I choose e.g. AF-C, this is displayed on the screen. But if I set the focus point on my smart phone (Galaxy S3), the focus mode changes to DMF and the menu entry for changing the focus mode disappears. After a certain time or after pressing half the trigger button on the camera, the correct focus mode is displayed. Setting now the focus, the loop starts again (DMF is set).

Sony is really not a software company. [emoji19]

I'll take a guess and that selecting AF-C doesn't give you the touch focus ability. It seems no different than not being able to use AF-C when choosing center or other focus areas.

AF-C was just an example, the same is true if I choose AF-S. And I can also reproduce it with both, center and wide focus area.

I have not found any setting where the focus mode is NOT set to DMF after touching the screen for focus.
