My fototech remote is not connecting with my camera. I haven’t seen clear guidance on any required settings but general information that some camera settings won’t work with the remote. Anyone have info on the required (or prohibited) settings to make the remote work? Battery is new.

A can't speak to your camera or your remote -- whatever they happen to be -- but I know that accessories (flashes, remotes, lenses, etc.), whether Sony or not, will only work with certain cameras and certain firmware with certain camera settings.  This can be particularly problematic with non-Sony accessories.  All I can suggest is check your camera manual, get the latest firmware, and check your remote manual.  Perhaps you have already done that.
