I'm considering a new camera/lens specifically for shooting wildlife while traveling.  I'm interested in hearing PROs/CONs about the following two setups:

1) a6600 paired with E 70–350 mm F4.5–6.3 G OSS

2) A7C paired with Tamron 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD

I'll be traveling with the setup and I'm trying to minimize the gear.  I'd like to have a compact yet capable setup.

What are your thoughts about those two options?  Yes, I realize that few have used option 2 as it's not yet released.

Thanks for your input.

Option 1 has much longer reach (525 mm FF equivalent) and optical stabilization. Option 2 has about 1 stop better ISO performance if you're shooting low light / faster shutter speed.

So: if you want big reach in a small package, go option 1. If 300 mm FF equivalent is enough for you and you regularly shoot at fast shutter speeds, go option 2.

Bear in mind you have to factor in other considerations with regard to sensor size and your future goals in photography. Only you can decide on those aspects.

If you do choose option 2, I'd consider the a7iii. Same camera, but better ergonomics (proper viewfinder). I bet you can carry that extra weight ?
