Just got the Sony A7III, an upgrade from my A55. I had a Tamron 70-200 f2.8 lens I used all the time and I wanted to get the equivalent for the E mount of the A7III or understand what adapter I need to use my old A mount lens notes above.  I shoot a lot of sports and wildlife in motion.  Any help would greatly appreciated.

Hi Etewey,

Just came across your post as I have a similar issue: I’ve got a collection of old school Konica Minolta A-mount lenses which I’ve collected over the years and refuse to part with. I’ve been scouring the web for the ideal adapter for my A7 and all the reviews seem to be pointing to the Sony LAEA 4 (https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/converters-mount-adapters/la-ea4). The only problem is, it’s a bit on the pricey side of things. I understand it’s worth the spend if it means keeping my A-mount lenses...but I’m wondering if there’s an equivalent but cheaper solution out there. Any luck on your end?

Wether its cheaper or not, I do not know, but there is a guy in Holland ( Nederlands ) who specialises in conversion  kits for individual lenses.

I found him via google, and he was fast & efficient !   In stead of reading the instructions, I found a youtube  clip, on  how to change the  lens mounts

I had a 90 mm Leica Lens, and he had the exact kit, to change the lens from Leica mount  to Sony E mount.

Sadly I cannot remember how much the kit cost, I just know, that after dismantling & re asembling, the Leica lens was a perfect fit, on my a7II.

Depending on how many lenses you have, buying the individual mount kit, might outweigh the cost of the Sony Adapter ?

Good Luck

WTC
