Guess I dropped or bumped my Sigma 70-200 2.8 hard enough at an event I was shooting last weekend to ding the mount.  It still mounts with extra effort to lock in place, and focuses and zooms without any issues.  Any idea where I can get a replacement mount for the back of the lens, or any way to bend it back?  Would I be able to just swap the mount from another Sony/Minolta A-mount lens?

No you cannot swap except from an identical lens.

You can see it by eye if you compare both in hand.

Sigma prolly will not sell you the part but would

rather receive the lens for repair. They get more

income that way, selling labor as well as parts.

Since it mounts up and works, the distortion is

prolly minor enuf that it can be straightened with

the mount on the camera [no disassembling]. With

the right tools and some reasonable care, it can

be a DYI .... for SOME people. You already know

which group you fall into [everybody does].

Rotsaruck, and be more careful next time !

Heh, probably better off sending the mount to a machine shop to get straightened out.

Not sure how the mount got bent.  I didn't drop it.  The bag did take a short fall (maybe 1ft), but the lens was stored in an upper compartment with padding under the mount, so I can't see it getting hit.  Meh...
