  1. Straight to the center point of this post....I cannot find enough superlatives to tell you how good this lens is....I have the A7R and A7R11, 16-35 zoom and a super sharp 2.8 35mm and Tamro150-600 with alfa adapter plus a bunch of Minolta legacy lenses. I could post some pics but you could never get a sense of the quality unless you got an original which I am not sure how to make available, Weight wise I don't notice any difference between this lens and the 16-35, of course they as with any lens a few minuses and the only soft minus would be the auto-focus appears a tad slower than I would expect but I have nothing similar to compare it to. I have eagles that daily sit on a tree at eye level on the bank about 70 feet in front of us and I am using the Tamron for the full frame close up but when I was out with the 90mm I just took a shot freehand out of curiosity to see what it would be like ...well when I cropped the result to equal tamron's bird size the 90mm was considerably better( when I cropped it in light room I brightened it a little but nothing else) The pics are not usable to judge quality they are just to illustrate what I am referring to.. Anyhow this is just to pass on to fellow A7 users what an incredible lens this 90mm is and with the A7R11 a brilliant combination that has me running around looking for subjects to use them on..
