Glad to hear Precision was better the second time for you. And,sure, I get that a dropped camera is not under manufacturer's warranty. But when you do send it somewhere for repairs you don't expect to wait months for parts.
It should not take extra-ordinary efforts on Sony's service blog to get action. When I hear, "The regular support channels were no use at all", is when I get nervous.
Sony is selling a boat load of new A7's and some of them are going to be defective, some of them are going to be dropped. If Sony can't do a good job on repairs, their customers are going to suffer. And not silently.
