I'm basically a still photographer, only occasionally dabbling in video.

Looking for a free or not too pricey software that permits me to to do basic video editing whilst retaining image quality. Tasks such as - cut/splice/join, transitions and remove/replace/edit sound... compatible with the Windows 7, 32 bit system. 

Any suggestions please? Thanks!
