Hi folks. I moved from Fuji about 4 months ago. When shooting outdoors I felt comfortable with a little rain over the gear. I am now shooting with A7RCii and CR along with a range of lenses including 24 2.8G, 85 1.8G, 70-200 2.8 GM, 100-400 5.6 GM (please ignore if there are any errors). Has anyone experience in wet weather with kit like this? Thanks, Sam.

"A little rain over the gear" is pretty subjective.

Sony has never been known for exemplary weather sealing. Their older cameras were awful, but the newer cameras, like yours, are fairly decent. As to the lenses, some are weather sealed and some aren't, you'll need to look those up to determine which are. And bear in mind, again, older lenses won't be a good as the newer designs.

I shoot an A7 IV and an A1. I don't worry about being out in a little rain with either, lens dependent. I used to shoot an A7 RIII, and as much as I love that sensor, I would run like the Wicked Witch of the West when water was in the air.

My Sony A7R5, 24-70 and I got thoroughly drenched about a year ago when I was just coming to the end of shooting a day to night time lapse, so it was dark and I didn’t see it coming. It was about an hour before I could dry it off properly but it was all fine.

Also, I shot all day in the rain in Rotorua with my RX100III, which I don’t believe is weather resistant. It was quite warm and steamy and I protected the camera as best I could but it got quite wet. It was also some time before I could dry it properly but it was fine also.
