I work in TV news and am required to play footage out to the network via a liveU unit (HDMI) from the field.

I can't find a way to set the A7iV to play back the videos one after another, it only plays one video and then stops, so I have to use the dial to move to the next clip and press play etc. This takes longer, means I can't pack up gear during playout and means the editors have to scrub through a feed with useless freeze frames/play icons.

I've gone through the menu many times, and also tried to find a display setting that will do this. I've read the manual and searched forums but cannot find a solution.

The A7iV's at work are on firmware version 3.01

This seems like a pretty basic function, can the A7iV play back videos one after another in camera?

Thanks

Hello Aardvark,

hey! i just happened to have exactly the same problem; and found a solution!

(i am on α7sIII but menu should be similar since all are on the fx3-style now?!) anyway:

in the settings, you need to go to the playback (blue) settings in the alpha and find viewingthere should be a slide show option to click!

(if its greyed out - go to playback target and put the view mode to date viewthis should do the trick)

ps.: in the slide show you can define a time in seconds, it only affects photos ;)all videos and photos on the card are played in a row, with just a little still-freeze between them.
