but I have a friend with a new A7SIII and when they go to their USB Connection menu PC Remote is no longer an option... Does anyone know how to get it back? Has it been removed on purpose or is it only allowed in certain modes? I need to us PC Remote for my accessories to work.

I’m also struggling with this. I have an accessory that requires PC Remote, but I don’t have the option on the A7sIII

I am having this exact issue, and would like to know if anyone here has a solution.

Specifically, I am trying to tether my a7siii (Firmware 2.11) to my MacBook Pro to use with either Imaging Edge for a photo shoot. I am not seeing "PC Remote" as an option in the camera. If you have any suggestions please let me know, and I will try to share any success I have on my end.

Welp, I already figured it out. They moved the PC Remote setting to Network (Globe icon) > Transfer/Remote > PC Remote Function. You can turn it on from there. I think you will need to disable "Control With Smartphone" first, but don't quote me on that.  Here's the article that helped me figure it out:

You must desactivate ctrl with smartphone first, then enable remote pc is done!

It's unusual that PC Remote is missing. Your friend should check if they're in the correct camera mode (like Manual or Aperture Priority) and if the camera firmware is updated. If issues persist, contacting Sony support is a good idea.
