Hi,

I have been using a Sony A6400 with a sigma 100-400mm DG DN OSS lens for a 5 months now, mostly shooting wildlife.

Yesterday while I was shooting (cont HI+), I heard the shutter get stuck, and a notification on the display said to restart the camera. On/Off button or any of the buttons didn't work. I had to take the battery out, and then all was normal. After few more shots, same happened. Camera became useless. I put on another lens (sony 24-240) to see if it'a a problem with the body or lens. Same thing happened with that lens as well. I tried both lenses on my friend's 6600 body, and its working without any problems at all.

Then I put on sony 50mm 1.8 on my a6400 body, and its working fine as well. As soon as I put on the zoom lenses, shutter gets stuck, and requires me to take the battery out to get it working again. Today also, I have been using the 50mm lens without any issues at all.

Unfortunately, there isn't a sony service center in my country, and I'm not able to take it for repair given travel restriction.

I have tried resetting the camera, reinitializing it, turning off electronic front shutter, and also sensor cleaning mode. Nothing seems to work.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

Athif
