The on "sonyalpharumors" described new FE-Zoom "24-70mm GM" could be very interesting if it should better match the E-mount cameras in size and weight. What does that mean symbol "GM" of course I do not know well. There would for me does not make sense if SONY would differ from the previous nomenclature. "G" stood for previously lenses of the "Gold-series" in continuation of a tradition of MINOLTA. The phantastic AF 3,5 / 17-35 mm or the legendary AF 2.8 / 200 mm were G lenses! "M" could stand simply for "Macro". Should there be a new Zoom out of the G-series with macro function?
