  1. My friend; you seem to have serious trouble I have never gotten a request for $1000 on my Mac, bogus stuff doesn't usually get thru my mail filter, which I didn't set up I have a free BitDefender which works great. Sometimes it gets stuff on its own or I run a deep scan every other week and come up w some minor things. Rarely an exploit. I believe I got my Defender thru the Apple store. If you got your BitDefender thru the store you need to report it to the Apple store If you clicked on to that $1000 mail request you might have a deeper infection going. Check w Apple support Good luck

  4. Thanks for the advice, there's a lot of wisdom I'm going to step down my f stops, which puts me into higher ISO, and lower speed, even w my f.2, especially on cloudy, foggy days, like at the Redwoods I have Elements 12, so I don't know how far that gets me. But I'm going to work on it
  5. that's the conclusion I'm coming to, hand held it's going to raise my ISO thanks
  6. Thanks Golem; I'm coming to that same conclusion, which is amazing to me. I guess I'm going to have to figure photoshop, unfortunately thanks again forum
  7. Hi thanks; the zeiss was set on intelligent which is full auto on the Rok I just went w what looked best in the view finder. It was really hard because looking up into the sun the setting was too bright for the sun or too dark for the shaded, there didn't seem to be a middle ground . But I will keep a smaller aperture in mind next time and see if that is better thanks a lot for the advice
  8. I recently completed 2 albums, both are the Muir Woods Redwoods, truly an enchanted forest. Each album photographed on a separate day. I only use the a6000, the 1st day I used my Rokinon 12mm f.2. I really like the lens, super sharp, lite weight - compact, very reasonable price. It's all manual so I set the a6000 on manual and adjusted accordingly each photo. It was a sunny day. The 2nd day I used my Zeiss 16-70mm f.4 only. I don't care much for it. Being mostly a night shooter I bought a fast Rok 21mm f:1.4 for nights. This was a cloudy, foggy as usual day. I was shocked by the amount of purple ca each shoot had and not just at the edges but in the dead center. It seemed that when branches were against blue sky the camera couldn't differentiate either on the cloudy day or the sunny day. So I'm asking if anyone knows what happened, that I got the same result, under such different circumstances and if you have any shooting tips you use that could help w the color aberrations. I would like to control it during the photographing You can go to my whole album by clicking on my name Coast below This is a photo w the Rokinon Muir Woods National Monument, on a sunny day, wide angle by Coast, on Flickr This photo is w my Zeiss on the cloudy day Cathedral Grove, Muir Woods National Monument; San Francisco Bay Area by Coast, on Flickr thanks for any help and tips
  9. by Coast, on Flickr This is the 55 210 this is the top of Devils Tower in Wyoming Most of the smaller aging cracks are not visible the colors are horrible and this is in broad daylight This is the 16 70 note the color infringement on the figure on the far left, magnification isn't even necessary Comparison photo, Ocean Beach] by Coast, on Flickr
  10. 16-70 55-210 The ones he opened the discussions with the Zeiss has horrible ca the tele has horrible detail and colors I do like the kit has power zoom, anti shake, auto focus, pancake compact, light weight, excellent walk around and at least as sharp as the Zeiss
  11. I have both of those lens w my a6000 I consider both of them a POS. I've started using Rokinon primes. I can crop the 12mm f.2 almost into infinity. it's that sharp. but thats just my experience
  12. Sony Vario-Tessar T*E 16-70mm F4 ZA OSS SEL1670Z Carl Zeiss for NEX +55UV *USA*Started by Coast, Jun 02 2015 10:16 PM Hello; I'm Coast, I have bought the above lens A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging PAID : $749.99 I bought it because it said US, I assumed it was an American copy. I found it was in Japanese, but it did say clearly warranty good in Japan only. It was March 2015, The lens was selling everywhere else for $999 (Amazon etc,) but w a 1 yr limited warranty. So I've had these questions for a while maybe the forum can answer. Does this mean we are paying $250 for a 1Yr limited warranty? Or does it mean I got a Hong Kong knockoff ? I'm not that happy w the lens it looks good, feels good, works good. It's sharper in the center than the kit, but not by that much. I'm pretty impressed w the kit, its power zoom, auto focus, steady shot, pancake size and pretty sharp. The Zeiss does have noticeable barrel effect @ 16mm and w pixel peeking it does have fall off and purple in the corners, but @ $750 I like it @ $1,000 would not so much my Sony a6000 package bundle I use the Zeiss on I bought it on last cyber Monday 2014 for $750 @ a Best Buy store. I love my a6000 What got me also was your article "Back in stock Zeiss SEL55F18Z + 3 yr warranty for $777 How much of that $777 is the 3 yr warranty? Thank you very much________Coast
  13. It's not a good idea, it basically defeats the purpose of a light weight, small camera. They add weight and size I believe in using crop lens on crop sensors. They are designed specifically for each other. I have Rokinon wide angles, 12mm, and 21mm on my a6000. They seem to spread out crop sensors nicely. To use the FF's to full advantage you have to buy an adapter that costs as much as some lens
  14. I Liked the Rok 12mm enough that I now have the Rok 21mm f:1.4. Going to see if I can use it for a walk around Will be selling the Zeiss 16-70mm f.4. I'll be letting you know how it is. Right now we are being beaten around by a serious El Nino so it might be a while by Coast, on Flickr
  15. Hi I bought the Rokinon 12mm f:2 (same thing) for My a6000 this summer to shoot the Milky Way.I went up to the top of the Sierra Nevada's. 10,000ft to Sonora Pass in August. It was one of the most spectacular things I ever saw. Conditions happened to be ideal, clear, zero light pollution, no moon, calm @ midnight. The Milky Way reached from horizon to horizon. To get it from horizon to horizon you'll need to rent a fisheye. Here's the link to my flickr album https://flic.kr/s/aHskifB9NU I was spellbound, the only reason I left, the moon started coming up. For people who live in cities and have never even seen the Milky Way, its worth it The good news is the 12mm is spectacular. My sharpest lens. It's so good I'm going to buy the 21mm f:1.4 this year. I dropped the 12mm on concrete and chipped the lip a little, but still worked perfect. The bad news is the a6000 is very poor in low light. I had the camera set on aperture, everything else on auto. No image ever appeared on the LCD or EVF. the Milky Way was bright, but I never saw it in my camera. I had to point it where I thought it would be. Also forget about any auto focus. I have a hard time w that too. I have the Zeiss 16 70mm. Really poor low light. When an a7000 comes out I'm probably going to sell the set and up grade. I still like the a6000 a lot I think your best bet is to go out take lots of pics see what works what doesn't anyway thats my experience Good luck
