Moody sky and trees

Out and about locally yesterday and grabbed some B&W images mostly of trees. The moody skies added to the images but it was a mixed bag with rain later on.

Took just the 24-70 f4 OSS - superb lens that delivers great images.

Very good.

The one above reminds me of the paintings of a friend of my parents when I was little. My sister may still have one—other than that I doubt I'll see one again.

Can you say anything about the B&W development? Tools or tricks worth knowing?

Thanks gents for the feedback.

The image was processed from Raw in LR then moved across to Photoshop where I have Silver Efex Pro 2 as a plug in that I used to convert to B&W, I then add the border using the Frameshop plugin.

I tried Silver Efex when Google first made it free. It's good but I've done very little with B&W since going digital.

I don't get tired of looking at this photo. It points out features from many centuries of social and economic history while leaving all the space I need to imagine details and/or ponder what I know of that history.
